ELLA JOHN - Record Release Party
Zeit & Ort
Über die Veranstaltung
Berlin-based psychfolk songwriter is sharing stories and thoughts about everything that matters and everything that should. Her songs tell stories about the constant journey that is called life, about awakening and escaping, about the birds above us and burning bridges behind us, about getting lost and getting home, about freedom and the everlasting search for the sea.
Founded in 2014 as a solo acoustic project by the songwriter Magdalena Jacob, Ella John is deeply rooted in the street musician and travelling scene. Since brought to life somewhere in a land on the moon, the project has shown itself in many faces. From slightly melancholic guitar sounds, via monotonous accordion melodies calling for the sea, to the eery-beautiful synth creations produced in collaboration with Blue Whale Recordings for “What they told us in winter”.
And above that, there's still this one voice that grabs you by the balls.
Special Guest VERA:
VERA is a young woman, who sings and she does it with a powerfully natural, timeless voice, that leads through carefully crafted songs. Despite unconventional structures and original melodies, her pieces touch a place that feels deeply familiar. In her performances, the play of her electric guitar and vocal loops melt into a musical expressions of her poetry. VERA is a modern day siren, who filters out lyrical truth in music that both sways and cuts.
